Rushon Gillette stepped out of the Forum, her cell phone pressed to her ear.
“Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!” she shouted into the receiver.
Gillette and her friend Debra Murry had taken half a day off work to see Sen. Barack Obama. They said they agree with his policies but couldn’t help but be inspired by seeing a black presidential candidate in the flesh.
“I am overwhelmed,” Gillette said.
