According to a new poll, former Gov. Jeb Bush is Florida’s most favorite recent governor—and also its least favorite recent governor.
That conclusion comes from a survey by Public Policy Polling, a North Carolina-based polling firm whose conclusions have sometimes been challenged by Republicans because the firm is Democratic oriented.
In a March 5-8 survey, PPP asked a sample of Florida voters who was their favorite out of the last five governors, who included, in order, Bob Graham, , Bob Martinez, Lawton Chiles, Bush and Charlie Crist. They also asked who was the voters’ least favorite of the five.
Bush won both categories—42 percent called him their favorite, and 33 percent their least favorite.
After that, the results were mixed. Graham was the second favorite at 23 percent, and Martinez second least favorite at 19 percent. Current Gov. Charlie Crist wasn’t high on either list—9 percent favorite and 17 percent least favorite.
PPP didn’t publish an error margin for the poll, which you can see here; the sample size was 849.
