In the Republican primary for Polk County’s 12th District congressional seat, Dennis Ross has engineered a coup against his new opponent, Polk County Commissioner Randy Wilkinson—Ross has announced endorsements from the other three Republican county commissioners.
Ross announced endorsements from commissioners Ed Smith, Bob English, and Chairman Sam Johnson. The fifth commissioner, Jean Reed, is a Democrat.
Rep. Adam Putnam of Bartow, who currently holds 12th district seat, will run for state agriculture commissioner next year instead of running for re-election.
