In her speech in Clearwater, Sarah Palin acknowledged she put on a poor performance in her recent interview with Katie Couric—an interview that inspired ridicule from her critics—but said she was “annoyed” and impatient” with Couric’s questions.

Palin mentioned the “less than successful interview I had recently from kinda mainstream media.”

“I was just trying to keep Tina Fey in business ... job security for SNL characters,” she jokingly added, referring to the Saturday Night Live star who does impressions of her.

“I was just getting really impatient because I was just thinking Americans want to hear about the issues,” she told the crowd. “I do have to apologize though for being a little impatient, a little bit annoyed.”

Palin’s better performance in here debate against Joe Biden Thursday night clearly has reassured some Republicans about her ability as a candidate, making it OK for her to joke about the Couric interview.

Her debate performance, in fact, was a major theme and an applause line for warmup speakers before her appearance.

“Sarah really did her job on Thursday night and brought it home … now it’s up to us,” said Gov. Charlie Crist.

I, too, am annoyed and impatient.  Annoyed that someone with such little intellect could be considered for a national ticket, and impatient for you to deliver an informed answer to any questions.  If you were tripped up by some kid in a sandwich shop and then totally stumped by Katie Couric, I can see why the campaign is keeping you off the Sunday morning talk shows. You are a joke and offend all professional women who work hard to achieve a place of prominence in their respective careers.  Go back to Alaska and defend yourself in that corruption scandal of yours, and get off the national stage.
