Sarah Palin will be looking for more than votes in her two-day tour of Florida. Party officials hope three fundraising events she’ll sandwich between her public appearances will bring in $3 million for the Republican Party.
The party will use the money to help John McCain. McCain can’t raise any more money for his campaign because he’s taking public financing, which means he’s limited to spending the $84 million in tax money provided under the program.
Instead, the money will go to a special fund controlled by the national Republican Party, which will use it to help the joint campaign/party efforts in battleground states, including Florida.
The fundraisers will be in Boca Raton, Naples and Jacksonville.
