Blogs are abuzz with talk of Barack Obama finally putting speculation to rest and announcing his presidential exploratory committee.
The Capitol Hill-based Hotline says a lot of Internet liberals - the people who brought us the Howard Dean campaign in 2004 - aren’t so enthusiastic about the Illinois senator, perhaps because he’s seen as a centrist.
At least two Florida bloggers, though, came out in support of Obama’s candidacy. In a “Dear Barack” letter, Political Buzz urges Obama to step up and confront the other potential titan in the Democratic race, Hillary Clinton. “You must press Hillary’s jugular immediately and lose your happy/pushover image,” hisses the Buzz.
Doomed Generation admits to being a bigger fan of Dennis Kucinich, but predicts the race will come down to Obama vs. Huckabee, and in that case, he’s pulling for Obama.
Of course, we don’t really know who’s running. A lot can change between now and 2008, especially with a new blog born every minute.
