The Barack Obama campaign has disclaimed reponsibility for a mailer that appears to link Obama to state House candidate Warren Dawson of Tampa, and says it is not endorsing Dawson.
Dawson is running in a Democratic primary that will be open to all voters in District 59 against incumbent Democratic state Rep. Betty Reed.
The mailer includes a photo of Obama and Dawson with the caption, “One good lawyer said to another, ‘We need a change in Washington and in Tallahassee.’ “
The Obama campaign said the mailer “incorrectly suggests that [Obama] is supporting” Dawson. Spokeswoman Adora Andy said in a statement that the campaign “did not authorize and was not involved in the production or distribution of this document. Senator Barack Obama has not endorsed Warren Dawson.”
Here’s the mailer.
