Gustav’s track is not looking good for New Orleans. If this track holds true, it puts NOLA on the strong side of the storm with winds of 115 mph and a strong storm surge from winds coming in from the south, a much worse situation than Katrina. Workers are shoring up the levees as residents of the special city make preps to board up and move out.
As you can see, we here in Tampa Bay are not in the cone but will still feel the influence of the storm. We will see some moisture riding up the peninsula from Gustav so we have upped the rain chances during the weekend.
Take care!
