Nanosolar is trying to revolutionize the power generation industry. And if their claims about the cost and efficiency of their PowerSheet and SolarPly products hold up, they may well do just that.
The biggest complaint about solar power has always been that it costs more than running a conventional power plant.
Nanosolar is now shipping a product they claim will generate solar power at a fraction of previous costs. They are also offering a 25-year warranty. The best news may be that they claim their solar sheeting is lighter and easier to work with than previous photovoltaic solar panels.
You will have a bit of a wait to try out one of their products though. “We are presently already sold out for the next 12 months. We are working hard to scale our production capacity as fast as possible” says their website.
Technical details are slim as of yet because they are only releasing details to their partners.
Hopefully this invention will be commercially feasible. Florida could definitely use a more efficient solar power source.
