Even if a coming cold front looks like it will be more of a coolish front, its arrival on Saturday should unfold the kind of weekend weather that’s our payoff for enduring summer.
The dry air we have now will get a reinforcing shot and some slightly cooler air will come with that.
The afternoons in the high 90s will disappear on Saturday with the temperature dropping to the mid- to low 80s on Sunday. That just a few degrees below normal but the lack of humidity will mean a weekend we can open windows and turn off the air conditioning.
Morning lows should be in the low 60s, except for inland counties and the Nature Coast where it might dip into the high 50s.
So far, the forecast says the cool, pleasant weather should last into the start of next week.
