Less Severe Storms Today

We saw lots of strong storms across the area today.  Thankfully we didn’t see the hail and damaging wind like we did on Wednesday.  Wondering why?  There was a large complex of storms that formed out in the Gulf early this morning.  As this storm complex collapsed it send a wave of cool, dry air that accelerated the west coast breeze inland.  Both coastal breezes collided and storms formed.  Add to that a large amount of cloud cover and the storms, although strong, didn’t have as much punch compared to those of yesterday.  No changes to the overall weather pattern are expected tomorrow so the atmosphere will once again be ripe for strong to severe storms.  It just will depend on how much sun we see during the first part of the day!
