Lumsden Road and Kings Avenue in Brandon is now Sgt. Ron Harrison Memorial Intersection.
The crossroads was designated to remember the 27-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, who was gunned down in August while turning north onto Kings.
Hillsborough County Commissioners designated the intersection this morning. A memorial sign eventually will be posted there.
Before designating the intersection, commissioners presented a plaque to Harrison’s family and one to the Sheriff’s Office to recognize Harrison.
He was in charge of the department’s DUI division.
