ImagingUSA is coming to Tampa January 6-8, 2008.
If you are into photography, video or digital images this will be the biggest conference in Tampa this year.
If you aren’t into photography you might want to avoid downtown during this timespan. Somebody will take your picture.
Classes run through the entire event and cover the full range of the image business.
Depending on the level of access you want, registration may cost from $35 to $409.
The exhibitor list includes industry heavyweights like B&H, Nikon, Canon, Adobe and about 500 other booths displaying every manner of camera widget, sprocket or cog you can imagine.
The pre-conference schedule, which runs from January 3-5, may be of more interest to locals who don’t have to travel far to attend.
Unrelated to the convention I just picked up Scott Kelby’s book Adobe Photoshop® Lightroom Book for Digital Photographers. Many interesting little tips and tricks are contained in this book.
If you haven’t used Lightroom yet, you may want to give it a look. It isn’t as finely controlled as Photoshop, but it allows you to plow through digital photos in much less time. Some of the features are superior to Photoshop, especially as relates to mass production, and archiving. Press L twice to preview your crop against a black background. I love that.
Lightroom also costs less than full blown Photoshop CS3. Lightroom works well in comnination with CS2 and CS3 also.
