Hillary’s Speech Rocked Pepsi Center

Tuesday was strange—it was like waiting for a shoe to drop, all day. The shoe of course belonged to Hillary Clinton and it was her speech Tuesday night that was on everyone’s mind.

Gloria attended the big Emily’s List meeting. To her surprise it was poorly planned and overcrowded. Imagine hundreds of women elbow to elbow standing for two hours (in heels), straining for a view of the speakers.

Hillary Clinton gave a preview of her evening’s speech, stressing her support for Obama. Michelle Obama repeated some of her remarks from the night before and warmly thanked the Clintons for their help and support.

Meanwhile, Herb was left to his own devices, and wandered the 16th Street mall. This is like Franklin Street on steroids. Hotels, restaurants, book stores and souvenir shops, and plenty of kiosks and vendors.

There were anti-abortion protestors with bullhorns and gross photographs on the mall and in front of the Sheraton where the Emily’s List meeting was held. No debate – just noise.

But there were also the tongue-in-cheek people demonstrating against “bird porn.” It seems birdwatchers are really voyeurs, invading bird privacy. Who knew?

My favorite demonstrators were the two college guys offering free “hugs for Obama.” Now why didn’t I think of that!

We made our way to the Pepsi Center (late, due to the Emily’s List meeting) where all of the speakers seemed to be filling time until Hillary’s speech.

The one notable exception was Gov. Schweitzer of Montana. He was terrific! He gave an old-fashioned barn-burner of a speech that got the whole building rocking. It almost made us want to buy a ranch in Montana.

Finally, Chelsea introduced her mother and the reaction was seismic! I haven’t heard such a roar since the C-5A’s were landing at MacDill. The place shook and she delivered. There is no doubt now that this is Obama’s convention. Unity rules and change is in the air!

We are exhausted and there are two days left to go. Ain’t America great?

This is all garbage. I would not vote for Obama if my life depended on it.  I can’t believe the Americans are so blind and stupid and believe every word this Muslim is saying!!!!!  The Clintons are hypocrits too!!! When she was running for president, she talked down on Obama she did not agree with his strategies and was against his policy and diplomatic ways.  Now her nose is so far up his --- that there’s no more room for crap.

Once you become a blogger, it only takes a few days until you’re writing about “bird porn”.
Way to get a scoop that Bob Schieffer missed!
