Todd Harris, a Tallahassee GOP public relations consultant and former Jeb Bush communications director, will become national communications director for the Fred Thompson presidential campaign.
Harris headed press relations for Bush’s 2002 re-election bid, and for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 2003 campaign in California. He also worked in press relations for John McCain’s 2000 presidential bid.
More recently, Harris has worked for Navigators, a public relations consulting firm based in Washington, Tallahassee and California.
He’s the second Tallahassee-based political operative to sign on with the Thompson campaign recently—former state GOP spokesman Jeff Sadosky signed up to be Thompson’s Florida spokesman.
Thompson has also hired Randy Enwright, a Tallahassee political consultant who also has longstanding ties to the Bush brothers, as political director.
