James A. Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts head Coach Tony Dungy, was pronounced dead early Thursday morning, authorities said.
Read the guestbook for James Dungy.
My prayers are with the Dungy family. My heart is breaking for each and every one of them. Coach Dungy has always shown class and patience. Let’s hope his family recieves the same. The family needs time to mourn and grieve, as a NFL community, we need to give them space, respect, compassion and above all the same class he has given to all of us here in Tampa Bay.
God is still undefeated and He will bring you this valley and lead you to the mountain top. I wil lift up my eyes unto the hill, from where comes my help. My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. - Psalm 121:1,2
Tony and Lauren,
My daughter Roushine and I would like to express our heart felt sympathy at the loss of your son. Roushine and James were sports team mates at Gaither High. She is deeply saddened at this time. May God give abundant strength to you and your family as you mourn your loss.
You will always be in our prayers.

To the Dungy Family,
May The Lord Keep you lifted up with your eyes on him. Keep the faith, you will grieve, but remember that God is in charge. I was responsible for a newborn and lost him at age 4 months, I didn’t want to believe that God had taken him so early in life, but ours is not to wonder why, God is in charge. So cry and grieve it’s natural. You will get past this, but you will never forget because this is part of the life God intended for you. Keep your family close to you at this time.
My prayers are with you all and God will see you through this. He wanted his angel with him. Mrs. Dungy,my heart is with you especially because I to am a mother.
Walk by faith and not by sight.
your sister in Christ.

Dear Coach Dungy and Family,
As a parent, I cannot begin to imagine
the pain and sorrow that you all are
feeling; may God be with you in this
dark and empty hour! Please try to
remember that you are not alone...that
folks such as myself have you in our
prayers and I feel sure that God will
help you through this. James will be
missed but he is in a much better place. There are no answers, although I am sure there are lots of questions.
Trust in God and may He comfort you and
bring you healing for your broken hearts.
With great respect and sympathy,

Tony and the Dungy Family,
Sir, you always had my respect, from when you were here in Tampa, to up in Indianapolis. Everything I have heard anyone say is that you truly deserved all the respect and admiration that was given, and more.
I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in this sad time.
With my deepest sorrow,
James Hatfield
Tony Dungy and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss...even though we don’t know each other personally, and I think I speak for many families around the country when I say this..as a Christian and as a resident of the Tampa area I feel your family is a part of ours..Mr. Dungy you have touched so many people because of your faith and character...and I know these will be the very things that will keep you and your family strengthened during this difficult time..Obviously, we are praying for you .....we know that our help comes from the Lord....without Him in a situation like this there would be no hope… but we as believers know otherwise.....you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Our thoughts are with you and your family more than ever....may the joy of the Lord be your strength and comfort. God Bless.
Coach Dungee & Family, Our thoughs and prayers are with you. May God comfort you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Tony,
Our prayers are with you and your family. You already know that our Lord is in control of all things - nothing happens that he is not directly or indirectly involved in.
May God’s peace fill your heart in knowing that your son’s spirit is in paradise right now. There is no way to figure this out—but our God intends this tragedy to be used for his ultimate good.
Lord Jesus—Bless Tony Dungy and His Family especially at this time; circle him and his family with your protection--protect him and his family from evil - Bless him mightly according to your perfect plan for his life on this earth.

God needed James in Heaven for a purpose. He knows you only had James for 18 years, but He has also promised you will all be re-united in Heaven. We can rest in and trust God’s promises.
