I dropped off my daughter this morning for her first day of kindergarten at Grady Elementary School in south Tampa.
Isabella, 5, sat down at the “blue” desks in Ms. Van Meter’s class and started to color a tiger, the school’s mascot.
Over minibagels and orange juice, Principal Melanie Botti welcomed new parents at the Tiger Tears breakfast in the media center.
Botti said Grady, an “A” school, was the No. 1 school in the county.
In the morning television program, the two anchors couldn’t remember what was for lunch, and the media center specialist’s big announcement was that she got married over the summer. As we walked passed her classroom, Ms. Van Meter was reading a story to the class.
