This neighborhood may be on the southwest fringe of district 7, but the Forest Hills Neighborhood Association has no trouble luring candidates to its Feb. 13 forum.
That’s because four years ago, Forest Hills had the highest voter turnout in the district. With a 37 percent turnout for the last municipal election, Forest Hills voters far outdistanced their New Tampa neighbors.
Association President Gail Matson said neighborhood voters turn out in force for the candidate forum, which starts at 7 p.m. at the Forest Hills Recreation Center, 924 W 109th Ave. ABC Action News reporter Don Germaise will make a return appearance to serve as moderator.
Candidates for mayor, district 7 and the two contested at-large council races are invited.
