BRANDON - The frenzy at Westfield Brandon Mall already claimed its first few victims.
A handful of men retired to easy chairs around 7:50 a.m. as their wives or significant others shopped.
While traffic was dense, few if any children or strollers were seen. Perhaps the level of focus for this kind of shopping requires no distractions.
Sandy Neel of Brandon took a break at Starbucks after waiting more than an hour to make a purchase at JCPenney.
Mall general manager Laurie Goldman said it already has been the busiest day after Thanksgiving she has ever seen.
