A new poll done for the Florida Medical Association, but done by Bill McCollum’s campaign pollster, McLaughlin & Associates, shows Rick Scott narrowly ahead of Bill McCollum in a near-tie in the Republican primary for governor.
The outcome: Scott 37 percent, McCollum 33 percent and undecided 30 percent. Scott’s 4-point lead is equal to the poll’s margin of error.
Although it shows McCollum narrowly down, the poll is actually good news for McCollum, who has been down by double figures in other recent polls.
Pollster John McLaughlin suggests the outcome suggests that McCollum has survived the barrage of negative ads launched against him by Scott.
