The Florida Republican Party’s reaction to the last debate between Barack Obama and John McCain: McCain advocated free trade, and free trade is critical to export-oriented businesses and ports in Florida’s economy.
Obama spoke against a free-trade pact with Colombia, which many Florida business interests advocate, because of the killings of labor organizers there. Colombia government officials acknowledge there’s been a problem, but say they’re working to bring the killings under control, and succeeding.
