First Front Heralding A Late Shot Of Cold

It’s late in the year for temperatures around Tampa to dip into the 40s but a line of clouds ahead of a cool front will bring a shot of cold the next few days.

There may be a few showers ahead of the front but the weather service says there isn’t a huge chance of rain. It will be nothing like last weekend’s drenching. The main impact through the day should be some cloudy skies.

The wind will pick up on Monday and temperatures Monday morning could dip into the high 40s in places around Hillsborough and definitely into the 40s in Hernando.

The real shot of cold will come when a second front passes on Monday and the weather service says the forecast can’t rule out a possibility of a few showers with the front.

Then the temperatures will drop into the middle and low 40s around Hillsborough on Tuesday and Wednesday morning with Wednesday morning likely the coldest. Counties from Hernando north will see the thermometer drop into the 30s both mornings.

The daytime temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will hover around the middle 60s, which would be a swing of roughly 20 degrees from the middle 80s of the past week or so.

There is a potential, the weather service says, for some of those lows on Monday through Wednesday to break some local records.

That’s a sign that you just don’t see such low temperatures this late in the year.
