The dry air forecasters said was coming did its little cat-feet thing Tuesday night and will give us mornings, at least, that finally feel fallish. The drier air began arriving about 10 p.m. It will stay a while, probably until Tuesday.
It may not seem like much, but the dry air changes everything. Rain chances drop, mornings are cooler and the soupy summer feeling goes away.
Even though Tampa still didn’t fall below 70 degrees at the airport, it sure felt far different than the string of the last 10 mornings since we have dropped below 70 in Tampa. That will probably happen on Thursday.
Still, the afternoons are going to be hot and above normal for this time in October, in the high 80s. The drop in humidity means it won’t feel like high 80s in September.
Even better, the weather service is still saying a cool front should show up around Saturday and we should start feeling it Sunday.
Maybe it should be called a coolish front since temperatures may go only a couple degrees below normal, but it will give a drop of about 7 or so degrees from Friday.
I don’t know if the editors will let this in, but: Go Rays!
