The weather service has been saying for some time that a little truly dry weather is on the way but rain chances have stayed pretty firmly in that 30 percent to 40 percent range, including today and Monday and the air has felt anything but dry.
Now, forecasters say the dry air they’ve been expecting should shuffle in on Tuesday. That should turn off the rain and cut the chances down to too low to mention, or less than 10 percent.
The arrival of the dry air will kick up some gusty winds on Monday with some topping 20 mph.
The dry spell should linger for the rest of the work week. We’ll also get higher temperatures with afternoons reaching 90 or getting close. It might not feel quite so hot though. That depends on how much moisture lingers close to the ground where we walk around and feel it.
We’ve had summer-like humidity for the past week or so with dew points in the high 60s and into the 70s. We start to feel muggy when the dew point gets into the 70 degree range. Drop that down into the low 60 territory and it starts to feel pleasant.
