I have often thought about what I like about Dade City. Having been born there in 1933 and moving away and then back about 45 years ago, it just seems like home.
I like that I can walk down the street of go into a restaurant and EXPECT to see someone I know. It isn’t a surprise. I don’t know of any town in Central Florida that has changed less in the last 50 years than Dade City has. For those of us who remember way back, there used to be a row of large oak trees in front of where Wachovia bank is, with a brick drive on each side. People would park under their shade while doing their shopping. The people are all very friendly, and (the town) definitely has a laid-back lifestyle.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been around the world and our country during my time in the military and find that Dade City just engenders this good feeling. It is a truly unique town. One that I feel fortunate to call home.
