Crist sets Feb. 23 election to replace Scionti

Gov. Charlie Crist has issued an executive order setting a special election Feb. 23, 2010, to replace Mike Scionti in the state House District 58 seat representing West Tampa and parts of Town ‘N Country.

That means the district will have a House member representing it in the coming legislative session. Considering the district’s political leanings, it probably also means Democrats in the House will get another member to replace Scionti.

The primary will be Jan. 26.
