The Charlie Crist campaign has issued a statement responding to Marco Rubio’s first campaign ad.
Predictably, it hits the Crist campaign’s recent themes of criticism of Rubio over earmark spending while Rubio was in the Legislature, and Rubio’s use of a Republican Party credit card to pay for some personal expenses.
The statement, from campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul, says in part, “As the truth begins to surface about Speaker Rubio’s double billing of taxpayers, lavish spending of Republican money, and, just today, excessive pork spending, no ad will be able to stop voters from seeing he is not who he claims to be ... just another typical politician who uses his public office for personal gain.”
