The cost to taxpayers of Gov. Charlie Crist’s flyaround tour of the state for bill-signing ceremonies for unemployment tax cut legislation Wednesday was $4,080, according to the state Department of Management Services.
Crist used the state’s Cessna Citation to fly from Tallahassee to Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers and Miami, holding signing ceremonies in each city for the bill, which he had already signed into law last week.
Crist had a campaign fundraiser in Miami at the end of the day.
He was accompanied by an FDLE agent; state Sen. Rudy Garcia, R-Hialeah, who sponsored the legislation; Agency for Workforce Innovation Director Cynthia Lorenzo; and a press aide.
