Jason Michael Downey never made it home from a St. Petersburg bar Thursday night.
The Tampa man’s body was found floating in Tampa Bay on Sunday morning.
Contacted this week by The Tampa Tribune about Downey’s death, Shannon Patrick-Benavides posted a blog item about him. It begins: “There are some things in life that you never forget — your first kiss, your first boyfriend, your first slow dance with a boy. For me, that boy was Jason Downey, and tonight I found out that he is dead.”
