The promising news for folks with thirsty lawns is that the weather service has put a chance of rain in forecasts through Tuesday as a front washes out over West Central Florida on Saturday and what’s left lingers for a few days.
The better chance for rain Friday and Saturday will be from Hernando County north, where forecasters put rain possibilities at 30 percent. From Pasco County south, it’s 20 percent.
Sunday looks to be rain-free. Rain creeps back into the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, at 20 percent. There’s even the chance for some stray thunderstorms to pop up, though those probably will be more likely away from the coast.
It’s not much, but in the so far rainless May, it’s something.
