I’d like to bring your attention to a story we’ve just posted on TBO. It focuses on a poor Lake Wales family that was given a FEMA grant following the 2004 storms. A few months later, FEMA wrote the family to say it had received too much and that it needed to pay back more than $8,000 within a month.
That has not happened. And government and now private collectors are circling.
