The politics of ‘Dancing’

People thought it was funny when Tom DeLay showed up on “Dancing with the Stars.”

But really, is there anything unusual about political types mastering a series of increasingly contrived moves, performing them on television in front of a national audience, and then having it all boil down to a popularity contest in the end?

Newsweek suggests that “Dancing” continue the parade of partisans. Here’s the magazine’s list of suggested contestants. It may be more entertaining than the actual show.
