Tarpon Springs Event To Raise Money For Wounded Warrior Project

As I mentioned yesterday, there’s a lot going on for Veterans Day.

Here’s another honoring the wounded and raising money to help them.

At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Spanos-Pappas Hall in Tarpon Springs, an event called We Salute You 2011 will raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps thousands of wounded service members and their families return home from combat.

Hosted by Barlas & Chambers, a community service project, the even will kick off with a colors presentation by Tarpon Springs Police Department Honor Guard. The National Anthem will be performed by Soprano Sandy Chambers accompanied by the Tarpon Springs Jr. Honor Chorus and director Derek Chaisson.

We Salute You welcomes event speakers Florida Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Florida Representative Peter Nehr, Florida State Senator Mike Fasano and Tarpon Springs Mayor David O. Archie. There will be entertainment for the whole family provided by The Barnkickers and Colleen A. Pikos singing a WWII-era classic ‘I’ll be Seeing You.’

The event will be produced by Arista Entertainment.

Already more than half way to their goal of $10,000, We Salute You has raised $6,000 to support wounded warriors as they return to life in the states.

A $5 ticket contributes to this goal and includes a dinner provided by GrillSmith, Lee Roy Selmon’s & Winghouse Restaurants, all drinks provided by Coca Cola and served by the Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy.
