Tampa’s Watkins on airport board

Gov, Rick Scott today announced the appointment of prominent Tampa accountant Robert I. Watkins to the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.

Watkins, 60, owns of Robert Watkins & Company PA, a company he operates along with his wife, Nancy Watkins.

Both have long been high-level fundraisers for Republican Party candidates, and their firm has a national reputation for expertise in handling finances for political campaigns and political committees.

Watkins succeeds board member Al Austin, also a prominent GOP fundraiser. His a term runs from Aug. 19 through June 30, 2015.
