Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn has a new public affairs director.
Ali Glisson, who has worked for Iowa Governor Chet Culver and on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, took over the position on Thursday, filling a vacancy left by the city’s previous director Liana Lopez, who stepped down at the end of former Mayor Pam Iorio’s second term.
Glisson, 25, is a Tampa native who graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names. She has also served as a communications director for Gov. Culver’s re-election campaign and the Iowa Democratic Party.
Her starting salary is $78,000.
