The state Republican Party just cried foul in response to Sen. Paula Dockery’s complaint about RPOF Chairman Jim Greer “us[ing] the party’s resources to send out an email of support for my opponent, Attorney General Bill McCollum” today. (More about that here.)
Katie Betta, spokeswoman for the party, said the party blasted out the email at McCollum’s request, just as it has and will do for any statewide Republican candidate who asks. “At this point, Sen. Dockery has not requested RPOF resources to be used to distribute her press releases.”
Such emails are not intended to convey party support for one primary candidate over another, Betta said; if Dockery asks, the party will distribute e-releases for her, too.
