Rivals assail Perry in tonight’s GOP debate

Under fire from his opponents over Social Security, immigration and other issues in Monday night’s debate, Republican presidential primary frontrunner Rick Perry moderated his stance on Social Security but didn’t back down on several other issues.

Perry spent much of the debate on the defensive, but remained calm and unruffled, and, on several issues, seemed to dare his opponents to disagree with him.

Many of the sharpest attacks came from Michele Bachmann, clearly trying to revive her campaign with an aggressive performance, attacking both Perry and Mitt Romney.
