Newt Gingrich has announced a “grass-roots team” of chairmen in all 67 Florida counties, including Sam Rashid as Hillsborough chairman, Miguel Fana and Tony DiMatteo as Pinellas chairmen, and Roger Whidden as Pasco chairman.
The team includes state Reps. Michael Bileca and Carlos Trujillo in Miami-Dade County and Rep. Debbie Mayfield in Indian River County.
In Hillsborough, in addition to Rashid, the team includes co-chairs Kelly Clem Rickon, Michael Goldrick, Rene Luaces and Robin Lankford.
In Pinellas, co-chairs are Nancy Reilly, Nina Pilon and Cody Fletcher. Chris Seeger is Pasco co-chair.
According to a campaign news release, the team includes 8 tea party and 9-12 group members, 44 women, 6 Hispanics, 7 elected officials, 15 state GOP executive committee members and 20 former members, and 21 former Herman Cain backers.
