Poll Shows McCain, Giuliani And Clinton Lead In Florida

A poll of Florida voters by Quinnipiac University indicates that Rudy Giuliani and John McCain are close to tied among Florida Republicans in their preferences for a presidential nominee, while Hillary Clinton is far ahead of the pack among Democrats.

Among Democrats, Clinton led Barack Obama 49 percent to 13 percent with Al Gore and John Edwards at 7 percent each, and all other Democratic contenders at 3 percent or less.

Among Republicans, Giuliani had 29 percent to McCain’s 23 percent, with Newt Gingrich at 14 percent and Mitt Romney at 6 percent.

In general election matchups, Giuliani narrowly edged Clinton 47 percent-44 percent, while Clinton narrowly edged McCain 47 percent-43 percent.
