Prominent Republican fundraiser and education activist Phil Handy, formerly head of the Florida campaign of Tim Pawlenty, has now joined the Romney campaign.

Romney announced today that Handy will become an adviser to Romney on education.

Handy, a Winter Park businessman, was a major player in all three Jeb Bush for governor campaigns and John McCain’s 2008 campaign. Bush appointed him chairman of the state Board of Education.
