One year out, the GOP parties are already starting

It’s still a year away, but Florida Republicans are already getting ready for the big party.

This weekend, party faithful will gather at two events to mark the “one-year out” date ahead of the 2012 Republican National Convention. 

Friday night, members of the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee and other politicos will gather at an invitation-only party at The Club at Treasure Insland. And on Saturday, a “CountDownTampa” party will be held at the Tampa Club on the 41st floor of the Bank of America building.

The Saturday night event will include appearances by Republican Party of Florida chairman Dave Bitner and GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
