Late polls in Florida: Tie, or Romney lead?

A last-minute Public Policy Polling survey finds President Barack Obama one point ahead of Mitt Romney in Florida—or more accurately, one vote ahead out of more than 900.
“To be more specific, 473 respondents chose Obama and 472 picked Romney,” said PPP’s summary of the results.
PPP notes that it has done four polls in Florida in the last three weeks, each showing a 1-point margin—Obama led twice and Romney twice.
That finding is similar to an NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll showing Obama leading 47-49 percent.
However, it differs from a couple of other late polls.
Mason-Dixon Polling & Research last week found a 6-point Romney lead, 51-45 percent, and a Florida Times-Union poll found a 5-point Romney lead, 52-47 percent.
On the U.S. Senate race, the new PPP poll also found 5-point lead for Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson over his challenger for re-election, Republican Rep. Connie Mack IV, 51-46 percent.
That finding is more in line with the other polls from late last week—Mason-Dixon gave Nelson a 6-point lead, and the NBC/WSJ/Marist Poll showed a 9-point lead.

We’re hearing a lot about “growth” these days, but is all growth good? Under the current administration, the number of people on food stamps has grown from 33 million to 46 million. Another four years of that growth would give us 66 million – a staggering 20% of the US population—on food stamps. We have entered a food stamp economy, not a growth and jobs economy.
