It may seem that way from the sound of jets roaring overhead, but Brandon is not under attack.
Since Oct. 19, the 6th Air Mobility Wing at MacDill Air Force Base has been running a training mission at the Avon Park Air Force Range. There has been increased air traffic from MacDill as a result, says MSgt. Bryan Gatewood, a spokesman for the 6th AMW.
The training should last until Oct. 29th, says Gatewood.
Which is just in time for Airfest 2011, which will be held on the base Nov. 5 and Nov. 6.
The Air Force Thunderbirds precision flying team should arrive on the 4th.
So enjoy the respite, Brandon folks.
