An old trend coming back? Recently I have noticed and been took by the sign advertisements for gas prices are for “cash” discount. But if you were to use credit/debit there is a different price than what the sign is. To me these are just dirty tricks just to lure customers in that are price shopping for the best deal. Even tho it is legal in most cases as long as the price on the pump is the higher credit/debit price. And there is a notice somewhere stating the advertised price is for a cash discount, no matter how small the writing is. I just think it’s just sad retailers have to play games, trying to get our money. For me any place that does this will loose me as a customer.

My comment will be divided into 3 parts, because after doing it it said only 750 chars allowed….
What is sick, is there is a solution TODAY available for high gas prices, one that will burst the oil bubble TODAY and send gas, and everything affected by it back down to 1998 prices. As a news reporter, you can help by helping spread public knowledge of this. Drilling won’t help because it would give us 5% our daily consumption in 10 years. Thats like adding 1.25 mpg if you get 25mpg.
Right now, the technology exists to make cars highly highly fuel efficient or electric only.

2 engineers in their “spare” time, made an electric/hybrid car that gets 230mpg, or electric only for 130 miles per charge, and will sell it for 25-30k. www.aptera.com
Then few other individuals as an ‘experiment’ wanted to see how high performance an electric only car could be. They made one that goes from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and gets 230 miles on 1 charge. www.teslamotors.com
The point of those 2, is if people, small groups who never made a car in their spare time can do this, why can’t big car companies?
It gets better….GM made an electric car around 1996 that got 130 miles on 1 charge. It was made because of a law passed by CA, which was quickly removed.

It gets better….GM made an electric car around 1996 that got 130 miles on 1 charge. It was made because of a law passed by CA, which was quickly removed. They took the rest of them, about 5,000 and destroyed them all. Big Oil knew that cars getting 130 miles on 1 charge, would mean most owners would never need gas, because how many average americans drive more then that per day. Now…12 years later, GM is announcing in 2010, a breakthrough, they will have an electric car that gets 40 miles on a charge, then goes to gas. (obviously big oil can live with giving somebody 40 miles because they will probably drive more then that each day w/ commutes)

I think GM needs to be exposed for doing this, let the public tell them thats unacceptable, and the rest of the car companies, that they better break ties w/ big oil and start making fuel efficient vehicles.
Suggest removalImagine if they give in and we are getting cars that get 100 to 200mpg, or electric only that get few hundred miles per charge. Gas demand will drop so much, oil prices would majorly drop.

The reason this isn’t being done is either payoffs or threats from big oil. And the government wants their tax per gallon and poss corruption and payoffs as well. A solution to tax per gallon w/ highly efficient vehicles would be a yearly tax on cars and doing away w/ taxing per gallon on gas so roads can be maintained.
This is the SOLUTION, and it can be done NOW, not 10 years, and it’s results would be dramatic, not small.

I have a great idea to help save people money. I have been doing it for years. I own a childrens resale shop in tampa, just outside of Oldsmar. This is a great way for consumers to buy thier kids great items at a fraction of the price. I of course am not the only one around there are several throughout the tampa area. It makes sense if you ask me so I thought I would share it with you. I specialize in babies, toddlers and preteens but there is a consignment store out there for anyones needs. I am hoping this will help others buy things they want at prices they can afford. Thanks, Jenifer Smallwood (owner Baby to Baby Consignment)

My favorite money saving tip is to use the library. You can check out “best sellers”, “how to” books, cds, and even movies—-all for free! There are Story Hours for children, book discussions, and many free classes and events.

Usury! National credit cards charge a usuarious interest rates, and going up. What happened to the usury rates that many (30-35) states used to have on their books? Why are consumers paying for the banks’ problems by being stuck with high interest rates.
I feel that mandated lowering of these rates to the 4-5% above the T-bill rate
(or some other financial indicator)that are still listed as the rates that can be charged, would be a financial stimulus for the country. My family would certainly have more money to spend if we were not having to use all of our disposable income to pay off interest rates that we have no control over.
Please, give us some information on this complicated legal/financial question.
