Who knew there even was an Irish American Republicans organization?
Well, there is, and it turns out they’re in favor of “Marc O’Rubio” for U.S. Senate.
According to its web site, the IAR was organized during the Civil War era—a time when Republicans were the abolitionist party, hated in the South as the party of Reconstruction, and favored redistribution of land to working people.
The group’s web site still has pix of volunteeers working for Charlie Crist in the 2006 governor’s campaign, but their views have changed, according to a Rubio campaign news release.
“Although we endorsed Charlie Crist for governor in 2006, we have been disappointed by his support for wasteful stimulus spending, cap-and-trade, tax increases and his opposition to scrapping ObamaCare,” it quotes IAR Florida Regional Chairman Jim Bomford as saying.
