Well here’s a switch.
Military aircraft are coming to Tampa to stay out of a hurricane.
The 6th Air Mobility Wing at MacDill says they are getting ready to bed down a number of planes from areas in Irene’s cone of uncertainty.
Over the next few days, according to a media release, MacDill is scheduled to receive aircraft from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.; Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass.; and Dover Air Force Base, Del.
Aircraft expected to beddown here in include C-17 Globemasters, C-5 Glaxys and Navy E-6 Mercury.
So you plane watchers out there, keep your eyes to the sky and you might see these birds landing.
