Since it’s after June 1, areas of low pressure in the Atlantic Ocean attract more attention than they would in early May. To that point, folks at the National Hurricane Center are keeping an eye on an areas of low pressure about 325 miles northeast of the Azores.
Forecasters don’t expect this to turn into anything except some bad weather and it hasn’t changed much since Monday. It is producing gale force winds, though. The whole thing is heading north over cooler waters, which will make it even more difficult for the low pressure to develop.
The hurricane center puts the possibility of it becoming a tropical or even sub-tropical cyclone at 30 percent or less but they’ll continue to keep an eye on it.
