Sounds like an old joke, we know, but consultant Chris Ingram recently ran into a straight answer to this question—from his column in today’s Tampa Tribune:
Last week I went to my credit union to move my business banking account from my commercial bank. I spent about 20 minutes with a teller as she processed my new account. Suddenly, she excused herself to her manager’s office only to return 15 minutes later to say my classification as a political consultant was on their list of “prohibited” accounts.
The nice lady then attempted to make me feel better by explaining, “It’s not just political consultants; other businesses like strip clubs are prohibited also ...”
