State Senate Pres. Mike Haridopolos, who ran briefly for the Republican U.S. Senate nomination earlier this year but dropped out, said this morning he’ll endorse U.S. Rep. Connie Mack of Fort Myers in the GOP Senate primary.
Speaking at an Associated Press legislative planning session this morning in Tallahassee, Haridopolos said Mack has a “positive agenda” and will “elevate the debate in the Republican primary… Instead of attacking other Republicans.”
Mack hasn’t filed or announced he’ll run, but aides say he plans to do so. Previously, Haridopolos had suggested he wasn’t happy with the field of candidates, which includes Adam Hasner, George LeMieux, Mike McCalister and Craig Miller.
