Garcia, Burton on Cain finance team

The Florida fundraising team for GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain is headed by Martin Garcia of Tampa, a lawyer and head of an investment firm, and includes Steve Burton, a Tampa lawyer and chairman of the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, the Cain campaign has announced.

Garcia, a member of the state Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission, has a long history of activity in Republican campaigns. He and two other Cain backers, political consultant Adam Goodman and businesswoman Kathleen Shanahan, were heavily involved in the successful 2010 attorney general race of Pam Bondi.

Burton, also a long-time supporter of Republican candidates, was a strong supporter of former Gov. Charlie Crist until Crist left the Republican Party.
